Since I work from home, I'm usually not too big on planning my outfits these days - although I do remember agonizing over elementary school picture day. 🙂 However, I definitely need to think ahead for St. Patrick's Day (it's next Friday, March 17th!) because there is a serious dearth of green in my closet. Luckily my new jewelry collection provides the perfect fix! I think these new Spring Greens Waterfall Earrings should keep me safe from any St. Patrick's Day pinches, don't you? (Unless you snap them up for yourself... then it's back to the drawing board for me, I suppose.)...

Obviously, the 2020 holiday season is going to look a bit different than normal. But, as they say, every cloud has a silver lining. With so many small and local holiday fairs going virtual, anybody can join in the fun - even if you are currently far, far away!I've traditionally been part of a number of holiday fairs, and I'm glad to say that at least a few are keeping on and even expanding this year - like GIFTY at The Crucible! Usually a 3-day event in their huge Oakland warehouse/industrial and fine arts school, GIFTY is moving online and lengthening...

Tendrils of silver twine delicately around a dainty drop of sun-melted glass in my newest jewelry designs. Like the slow uncurling of a new leaf, the new Tendrils Collection is still emerging, but I wanted to give you a little preview! With a dainty glass water drop of pale blue, these twirling tendrils are perfect for Spring - or go with something a bit more vibrant like this vivid turquoise to add an extra pop to your favorite...

So I was supposed to be working on something else this afternoon, but after being inspired by a jewelry design class yesterday I just couldn’t help myself! Three pages of sketches, and these are what came out today...
I’ve had this idea forever (inspired by this image), but was never really sure how to go about connecting the drops - today I finally just gave it a shot, and it worked out great!
What do you think? I've got a number of variations in mind and I'd love to hear your thoughts!

I had a glimpse of Spring and sunny days recently - and took advantage of it! I pulled my giant magnifying glass out in the sunshine and tried out some more new colors! And I managed to make just enough of my three favorites before the rains returned to share them with you... There are three brand new colors in this limited edition collection: A pale, milky mint green made from a broken antique jadeite plate Swirling opaque greens made from stained glass scraps And a pale transparent blue (also from stained glass scraps), similar to Water but...

Our newest featured shop is Elle's Niche in Charles Town, West Virginia - a darling boutique that just picked up Sundrop Jewelry this year. I'm super excited to have Sundrop Jewelry join them! Why did you start your shop? I started my shop out of a love of creating and wanting to be able to showcase others like me. It has always been a dream of mine and currently we have over 20 artisans in the store. There are some that believe that art is something that you hang on a wall or place on a pedestal or show in a gallery. While that...

Drumroll, please.... The new limited edition colors have arrived! Milky swirls, subtle streaks, and moody hues are signature elements of this enticing trio. From a single strip of scrap stained glass three fairly distinct color variations emerged, and I'm naming them accordingly (because giving things names makes them more official, right?)...This is the "Rainy Season" series, with three colors to choose from: "Partly Cloudy" (lower right) with sky blue and white swirls "Overcast" (center) with hazy very pale blue and pale purple "Stormy Day" (upper left) dominated by purple streaks in milky pale blue You'll find each available in...

I've been playing around with some glass scraps that I got from a fellow artist who was de-stashing her old stained glass hobby, and I just couldn't resist sharing this one first... These drops are all from a single strip of a milky white and blue and purple streaked stained glass! Whenever I use multi-colored stained glass there ends up being a LOT more variation in the colors and patterns from one drop to the next. That certainly ended up being the case here - even though they're all made from the same strip of stained glass! Some have sky blue and...

If you haven't been to my website recently you may not have noticed, but over the past month I have been quietly reducing the prices on my three most popular jewelry designs - Solaris Earrings, Demi Earrings, and Demi Pendants. A number of factors went into this decision, but one of the biggest things is I didn't want anyone to have to wait for a sale to buy a piece you've fallen in love with. (However, this does mean that I will be having fewer sales in the future, and the discounts won't be as large.) While I will probably not be...

Unlike much of the country (I hope you're staying warm!), I've had some sunny days recently. So I've been busy using that sunshine to make more delightful, sparkling teardrop jewelry from a certain well-known glass bottle... Guess which color is now back in stock? This weather turned out to be a really good thing, as I had entirely run out of these glass teardrops I make from Coca-Cola bottles! This pale green often appears clear, and tends to pick up surrounding colors, so it can go with absolutely anything! Amber of EmilyReviews.com just wrote the most wonderful review of her new Sundrop Jewelry! "Artist Tawny Reynolds is a true master of her craft. She melts down glass bottles to create the gorgeous pieces offered at Sundrop Jewelry. Using a three foot magnifying glass, she focuses the sunlight on glass bottles to melt into the droplets used in her jewelry and then wraps them in recycled sterling silver wire. No two pieces are exactly the same, though she does a wonderful job matching droplets for earring sets... While I don’t wear a lot of necklaces (I have an overzealous three year old...

This week has been full of gorgeous, sunny, cloud-free skies - which means it's the perfect time to start stocking up on popular colors before the holiday rush! I thought you might like to get a few peeks behind the scenes at how Sundrop Jewelry is made, from bottle to earrings! I start with an empty bottle (Skyy Vodka is today's color - we won't go into how it got emptied, haha!), and use glass cutting tools to slice off the top and bottom, and cut the sides of the bottle into long skinny strips. And here is why the weather matters... On...

Nearly half of the pieces I sell at fairs are either one-of-a-kind color combinations I have on display, or custom requests for this design but in another color. With so many colors to choose from there are just too many variations possible to have them all on display at once. (And I already have people saying they get paralysis of choice!) But everyone has their own favorite colors, right? So, I always bring my entire stock of sun-melted glass teardrops. And I try to tell everyone that if they see a design they love but want a different color, I can...
